PF self-cleaning filters

The filters in the PF range are automatic fabric dust collectors, suitable for continuous operation, and the filtering bags are cleaned by backwash.

The PF range of self-cleaning dust-collecting filters has been designed to trap and deposit industrially produced dust and shavings and can be used in the majority of polluting industrial processes.

They can be used with gases containing extremely fine dust and have a very high collection rate, even for particles down to one tenth of a micron in size.

When made with special fabrics, PF filters can be used at working temperatures of over 200 °C.

The filters have been designed, built and tested so they can be used without residual risk arising from their start-up, use, transportation, installation, assembly and disassembly, maintenance and repair. The technologies chosen during the design phase, the high quality of the materials used in construction, the meticulous workmanship of the parts, correct assembly and strict testing and inspection, all make them highly reliable over time.

 

Machine features

Compact size
The gas distribution headers and intake manifolds are incorporated in the dust collector body.

Modular design
The system is made up of modular cells. This makes it easy to transport and assemble the dust collector, and add on any extensions if desired after installation.  
It also means that plants fitted with the PF filter can be easily enlarged as well as centralized so that several polluting sources converge onto a single filter. The end walls of the dust collector have actually been designed so additional filter cells can be added.

Ease of inspection
The dust collector is fitted with large inspection hatches, which can be accessed from the roof or from the hopper under the cells. This makes it extremely easy to perform maintenance and control the internal parts.

Even distribution of the dusty fluid
The section of the channel of the PF filter which carries the dusty fluid to the filter gets gradually smaller and smaller from the fluid manifold connector.
This feature, together with the configuration of the channel, ensures the dusty fluid is distributed evenly over all the cells, whether they are located near the connection between the filter and the intake manifold, or further away.

Adjustable washing cycle
The washing cycle can be adjusted according to the needs of the system the dust collector is connected to. The control device can be programmed to vary both the washing time and the frequency of air reversal.
This flexibility helps with the secondary physical phenomena that arise from backwashing and ensures the layer of dust deposited on the fabric is removed properly so the fabric can be cleaned thoroughly and the level of filter permeability maintained.
In other words, it is possible to “calibrate” every PF filter to the specific needs and features of the installation, exploiting the machine to the full and thus obtaining maximum performance. 
It is also possible to clean the filtering bags at temperatures other than ambient temperature to meet the requirements of the system, depending on how much condensation forms.

Solid structure
The PF filter range has been designed for heavy duty and is normally constructed in carbon steel sheet of appropriate thickness, which allows it to be classified as a “machine for continuous operation”.
The PF filters are made of bolted panels depending on the specific features of the installation, taking into consideration the space available on site, ease of transportation and, generally, the order in which the different sections will be handled during assembly.   

Improved energy performance
The basic operating principle of the PF range of dust collectors is based on its special filter cleaning system which consists of a jet of compressed air and a venturi.
The venturi directs the jet so maximum performance is achieved with minimum energy and, as a result, each part of the filter unit is pristine.
The accurate manufacture of the venturi, their special shape, the different sizes of the venturi and the jets above (which are factory set), all contribute to the high performance of the filters in this range which can be used to collect dust in the majority of polluting industrial processes.

Reduced maintenance costs
Attaching the filter to the venturi built into the upper membrane is practical and easy to carry out: this means maintenance costs are kept to a minimum.
The system can also be used on other applications, cutting costs to replace the filtering bags since there are no other accessories such as clips/clamps or gaskets.
