The hot material enters the bin through an inlet rotary valve. A distributor may be installed below the rotary valve to ensure the material is evenly distributed inside the cooler. The material is cooled inside the bin by air, which flows through the extractor and exits through the outlet.
The height of the material is controlled by an adjustable level sensor, which keeps it at a pre-established level. As soon as the material triggers off the level sensor, the extractor is activated, discharging the material through the hopper.
If the material drops below the sensor level, discharge is interrupted. To prevent the cooler from clogging up, it has been fitted with an overflow sensor which, when activated, stops feeding material into the cooler.
